Trustees Allen and Rolfe were appointed a committee on streets, and all work is to be hereafter under their direction, ‘D. W, Ridley and Al. Jenkins were nominated for Night Watchman for the ensuing year. The ballot stood— Ridley 8, Jenkins 2; Ridley-was declared duly elected. The Board ad journed to next Thursday. ALL Quret.—Pope, the Grass Valley undértaker, was in town yesterday, and he reports that the chance of an in: crease in his business on account of the strike is extremely slim. The miners meet, consult and resolve, and do nothing further. COMMISSION ARRIVED.—The Commission of Geo. R. Crawford, Assistant Assessor for Nevada and Sierra counties, has arrived at Sacramento, and we understand he will enter upon the discharge of his duties next week. Mr. Richmond, who is succeeded by Crawford, tendered the office as soon as he was notified of the change, but the latter of course could not accept until the ‘arrival of his credentials. ce LaTE PApers.—George R: Crawford yesterday furnished us with late copies of Eastern pictorials received by last mail.
