San Andreas_to relieve Calaveras coun« ty of the debt now pressing upon the people of that locality, which anmounts depressed, enterprise paralyzed, and the development of that county, rich in mineral and agricultural resources, pre~ vented. ‘The managers propose to issue 200,000 tickets at $250 each, and to return one half the entire amount received in the shape of prizes to the ticket holders and apply the other half, after deducting expenses, to the pay~ ment of the county debt. There are to be 6,458 gifts, the largest being $20,000, $15,000, $12,000, $10,000, and so. on down to gifts as low as $10. The panoTama is accompanied by excellent mechanical effects, and all the grandeur of a storm atsea. This panorama is said . by those who have seen it to be one of the finest ever exhibited on the ‘coast. It ought to be seen by all. A Dangerous Man. ; In making up the ticket for the Democratic Primaries, the ticket makers had a lively little passage at arms in regard to one of the names suggested. It was objected that they were not certain that he was for —— first, Jastand allthe time, and he had better not be put on. In answer to this it was argued that if elected on a —— ticket he would be bound to work for —— in convention, and if he wasn’t elected, he’d be in convention anyhow by proxy, and in such an event he would beat h—Il out of , 8u they had better put him on. Not having seen the ticket we are not advised whether the party whose merits asa delegate were thus discussed got on or not.
