A mar named James Brown, who has been acting in the. capacity of porter at the National Exchange Hotel, died suddenly on «Tuesday of hemorrhage of the lungs. On Sunday morning, while éigaged in sweeping the saloon, he was taken sick and went to his room, where he remaineduntil Monday. Fourth of July Celebration. ‘The citizens of Grass Valley have called a meeting for Tuesday evening next, at West’s Hall, to adopt measures for the celebration of the 4th of July, at that place.
