it appears the robber or robbers were
secreted near a wood p le, and after
Moore had passed there the blow
was dealt and his-pockets rifled. As
soon as he recovered he attempted
to go-to the National Exchange Ho=

Fourth of July Celebration.
‘The citizens of Grass Valley have
called a meeting for Tuesday evening next, at West’s Hall, to adopt
measures for the celebration of the
4th of July, at that place. It strikes
us very fercibly that the people ‘of
this city and Grass Valley had better save their louse change for a
grand celebration, to take place on}
the completion of the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Ruilroad. That
day should be made a gula day.
