M.S. DEAL,
MINING AT JONES’ BAR.—The cement
mill removed from Collins & Co’s claim,
You Bet, to Jones’ Bar, by Fitzsimmons
& Co., is now completed and ready for
work. ‘The recent storm increased the
’ volume of water to such an extent
as to interfere with taking out the
cement, the company proposing to
commence near the channel of the
stream.. There is a large bed or strata
-of cement covered. by gravel, and if
prospects are any indication; the parties
-have the certainty of a fortune._One
hundred and forty-four pounds of this
cement yielded $31. Itis thought that
the water will subside sufficiently to
permit work to be commenced in a, week
or ten days. :

~some fifty or sixty prizes, for which the

of the citizens of Nevada. The best
“strings of three shots take prizes in
their order and the best strings of two
shots. There will be a pony purse for
the best singlé shot. The Company is
now in splendid condition amd the memRospery at Rouen & READY.—On

a sack of flour stolen. During the
Winter Mr. Dikeman had flour stored
in the barn, and he thought it was being used pretty fast. When this las’
sack disappeared he became satisfied
that somebody else was feeding from
the same flour. _

destroying fruit when abgat half ripe.
Yesterday morning the lot of A. BCarley was entered,a number of branch.
es broken from a fine cherry tree, and
' the ground almost covered with half
ripe fruit. This practice should . be
stooped, and if boys consider that they
lay themselves liable toa heavy penalty by taking fruit from the trees,
ahey will probably desist from such
practices. i
