Speeches. will be delivered by Judge Brockway of El Dorada . county, Hon. E. W. Roberts, Jadge MeFarland, Dr. Harris of North San Juan, who was a surgeon in the Union army, M. D. Boruck of San Francisco and J. C. Palmer. Music will be furnished by the Nevada Brass Band. Never in the history of the Nation were such popular nominations made forthe highest offices in the gift of the people, and to-night the citizens of Nevada should’ have such a demonstration as will make their opponents feel that the fires of patriotisnr are still burning vig apo the altars of their country, and thatloyal men are inspired by the same enthusiagm as gained them such glori__ ous Victofies during the war. Let ev-. =. ery loyal man in the community be on hand to-night and enroll his name with the Grant Club, thas giving his name and influence to the cause of country. Let us again make the “welkin ring” with the patriotic songs that inspired the loyal soldiers during the war. We'll rally round the flag boys, rally once Shouting the battle cry of Freedom. : Tne Fourta or Ju.y.—tit is time that our people were taking steps to appropriately celebrate the Fourth of July. Already other towns have called meetings and organized committees, and it has been proposed that a citizens’meeting be held in Nevada on next Tuesday.evening. Last year our people united with the citizens off Grass Valley in their celebration. This year the people of Nevada: should get up a celebration and invite the ¢ Grass Valley people to participste. & “committee ought to be selected on Tuesdaynight, and the’ preliminary steps shoul ae immediately taken. In this way we can secure a good oration, and have one of the best celebrations ever held in the county. Letevery citizen be present at the meeting on Tuesday night. As Mr. Frankel, the celebrated optician, intends to stay only one or two days longer in Nevada, we would advise those: who have not yet availed themselves of the opportunity to call at his rooms at the National Exchange Hotel, and examine his goods.
