Personal.
We had a call yesterday from M. D. .
~ Caulkins, traveling correspondent of
the Lawrence county, Kansas, Daily
Journal, who is visiting his brother,
Delos Caulkins, of this city. Mr.
Caulkins resided in this county in 1856,
aod is now: visiting his old friends and
_ getting material for correspondence to
the paper which he represents. He
will no doubt. find much in relation to
the mineral aiid other resources of the
county, which will be interesting to the
readers of the Journal, which; by the
way, is one of the best west of the
Mississippi.
The New Rink.
The Committee of the Young Men’s
Social Club had the new skating hall
landsomely decorated with flags and
emblems yesterday and the music
sounded excellent. The rink is a
splendid building for sound, beivg tar
superior to many halls designed for
public speaking. The party given at
the opening last evening will receive
proper consideration to-morrow as we
Went to press tooearly to give an account of it. ;

New Goods;
A. Goldemith has just received another
lot of those choice goods which he has
been selling 80 low. A look at the establishment will convince any one that
he is doing a splendid business, for the
reason that he srtisfies all his patrons.

Competition in the Dry Goods line
is getting to be very interesting to the
Lidies, for the reason that. everything
in that line ig down low, so low that
the poorest of the poor can bay the
finest articles for about the same rates
‘ that inferior goods cost: heretofore.
This can be fully demonstrated by cal. ling at the Palace Emporium of J. & S.

Streets. Yesterday forenoon

which they are selling at extremely

This is now admitted by the medical profession as a fundamental principle of

The great aim therefore is to strengthen the
natural powers. This has been kept in view
by the skilltul componnders of Hos@fer's
Stomach Bitters, which Operates to give
fresh vitality to all the organs of the body;
The effect of this medicine upon the stomach,
the liver and the kidneys, is prompt and. de-cisive. The patient, who is wise enough tu
quit drugging and try the Bitters, soon feels
as if he had taken a new lease of ‘life, and as
he continues the use of the article, he is overjoyed to find the streams of health coursing
through his frame, ‘At is prepared with great

As a mcdical agent it has no equal, while its

operations are at once mild, soothing and efticient. All who have used Hostetter’s Stomach
Bitters attest its virtues and cumniend it.
Even those who are in the enjoyment of
