Tux Council at Danville, Ill, on Tdésday night fixed the yearly saloon licenses at $602».. Wednesday, all the saloon keepers refused to pay thatamonnt, and closed’ their places. A largenumber of citizens signed acall for a public’meeting for the purpose of urging the Council to raise the liconse to $1,000. The saloon men then yieleded, and agreed to pay the $600, Dark, the editor of the paper at San Marcial, New Mexico, describod several Mexican residents as murderers, and they put up a job to have him arrested and lynch him on the way tp. another town.
