Bigelow is business: manager, and Jesse Thompson has charge of the buss jness in San ‘Francisco, and in both places the company is doing. a very large business. ,The sales of icé in Sacramento amount to five tons. per day. In this city those who desire ice ein be supplied by leaving their orders at the office, at tlie foot.of Main street, The ico made by the company this year is equal to any ever marketed in the country. Hastern. men gay no such ice can be seen inthe markets there. All skates will be kept clean and‘in the best ree pair. , csi Soe ts and Barley. 2 Fred Bulacher yesterday showed us clusters of barley and oats from the Swiss ranch, Willow Valley, which we will venture to say will beat anything in the State of that kind this season. The stalks measure over five feet in height, are of strong and vigoroasgrowth, and ‘trebled heads’ upon them. Who says grain won’t grow in the mountains. Fruit. i The prospects in this lecality for fruit are very good, if no heavy trosts should occur. A gentleman informs us that he counted 1,000 clusters of grapes on asingle vine in his vineyard. Trees and vines are loaded with blooms, and from present indications one half the fruit will have to be removed or the trees will not be able to sustain the loads. The Marysville Concert. The human stomach has been a shamefully Persecuted organ.’ Phere tvas‘a time when for every dereliction of duty it was punished with huge doses of the most. disgusting and nauseous drugs. In vain it rejected the and literally returned them poe the hands of those. who administered them. They were forced upon it time and again, until its solvent power was thoroighly drenched oxt cf it. The werid is wiser now than it was in that drastic era, when furious purgation and murcurial salivation were what Artemas Ward would have .called the “main holt” of the rtrd in cases of dyspepsia and liver com.The great modern remedy for indigesti and billiousness is Hostettsr’s Stomach Bit. pale ee preparation which has thé rerit of combinin-a palatable flavor with auch tonic, aperient and anti-bilious properties, as were never heretofore united in any medicine, It has been discovered, at last, that sick people are not like the fabled ‘litans, who found prostration so refreshing that, when knocked down, they rose from the earth twice as Vigorous as before.
