mining interests of our county, which have
the numerous excitements. which bas cars .
ention. ‘The-ramors of rich discoveries:
like w hive of bees, and they have not got
settled yet. Many a man abandoned good
claimis and invested all bis means in mining
claims of nv more value than the paper upun
which the certificates are printed. Thousands of doliira were withdrawn from cirs
culation in this State and invested in clajms
in Washoe. During the last your times have
wineral fields bave returned to develop the
mines of thie county. During the present
geason, aé unfavorable as it has been, more
gold hae been taken out in this county then
for any two previous ones. We have record:
ed more new discoveries of tines than for
three yeats before. New quartz mille have
been erected, and a large number ot rich
leads upened: Around the towns of Washes
ington and Omega, in a district uuprospected until quite recently, some twenty new

half developed. We want. men who are not
to bé catried off by every idle rumor; practical industrious minera to go to work upon
the mines, and no fear need be entertained of
the reailt. We have heard men spenk of
those who have atruck rich°mnes as lucky
men. If you will but look at their history
you will find that the averet of their success
is. their industry and perseverance, They
have gone to work with determination and
have toiled on until their labora have been
crowned with success. The mineral wealth
of our county ia boundless, and for the induatrious and pereevering her wines have a
