Hudson Cunningham, brother-inlaw of Mrs. John Lancaster, died very suddenly at the residence of the latter on Thursday night. _He came to this State frum Ellsworth, Muine, about six weeks since, partly for the recovery of his health, aud partly for the purpose of taking charge of the Empire Livery Stable. National Surgical Institute. 2 The Pacific Branch Permanently Kstablished in San Francisco. Since. the first visit of Dr. H. R. Allen (the founder ef the National Surgical Institute) to this coast, near.y two years ago, ithas been the intention of the Institute to establish a Branch in San Francisco. The subsequent visits of other surgeons of the Institute, and the unparalleled success which attended them, has-served only to strengthen the project: After the expenditure of much time, labor and money in preparing instruments, machinery, etc., the Pacific Branch is at last permanently established, and will be open for the reception of patients by the middle of this month.
