The articles of incorporation of the Oakland Gold Mining Company were filed in the office of the Seoretery of State. The corporation is formed for the purpowe of carrying ‘ou and conducting the business of mining in all its branches for gold aad silver in the County of Nevada, Btate of California, The principal place of business of the said corpo. ation is at Oakland, and the oompany is organized fora term of fifty years, The Directors are five, and their names are .as follows: J, W. ~Ehompson, John Kurtz, George 0. _ Riser, BH. On , Saturday morning, says the Grass Valley Union: Lewis T. Delevan departed this life. Deceased had been a resident of this town for about twenty-five years, and was weil knowa as an upright aud honorable man. His. gentle and blameless <, of life endeared him to a large circle of friends, and his family have the sympathies of them all. Mr. Delevan has suffered greatly in the past five or six years with rheumatism, and to alleviate the excruciating paiws caused by that disease he has been in the habit of taking sedative doses of narcotics, by the .adyiee of his physicians. .His sudden death is attributed to the fact that be ‘mistakingly took an overdose of a guilty, but how does he know he isn't wntil puton trial and the verdict of handed in, The object is to gonvince him thet he's ;in-a chair with a revolver cocked and } this tity than we havé seen at-avy. —}semble-at;their respective chambers} ® very wick-. : Ratner Doe“Tiey Give uP us Home.—Hiram. H, Clark, a son of the late Ex-Govemmor Clark of Maryland, lived with, his family neat. Madison, Morrde “county? He had eontractéd for a piece of land from a man nawed Alexander, on whieh he had established his home. He had made several payments. on his farm, but had failed to make the others when they became due. Alexander sued for the possession of the laid, and it was awarded to him by the law. Clark said he would rather die than give up bis ‘home. Constable Cliff Wade was sent with a posse of men to. dispossess Clirk. Clark and his family refused fo move. The Constable and his men moved his goods and chattles ont intu the yard. Meantime Clurk sat laying on the table before him, It was very late when tbe Constable finished moving the goods from _the.}: house, and Clark’s family, whicli consisted of his wife, two grown-up sons, and several small children had ne.place to lay their heads. They . weré permitted to remove dome beds back to the house, on which they slept during the night, And until}: the héur of daylight, while. the Constable and bis men kept watcb, Clark . atill sat -with his revolver cocked before him. With the dawn of day the crisis came. Allthe family had left the room, Every article of farnitureexceptthe chair on which Clark sat, and the table on which his revolver lay, had again been moved out 6f the room, ‘Old man," said the Constable; ‘everything has been movedout. President Hayes bas at last issued the following. proclamation calling an extra session of Congress{ A proclamation—W bereas the final adjouroment of the Forty-fourth Congress without making the usudl appropriation for the support of the army for the fiscal yearending June 13, 1878, presents an extraordinary occasion, requiring the President to exercise the powers vested in him by the Oonstitution to. convene the Houses in anticipation of the day fixed by law by their next meeting.
