She has “been living with a number of families -* @urinig the” Yast two years, aiid ‘from each . she. managed to steal a considerable amount of, property.. Two mammoth tranky filled with articles of every deseription were seized by the Marshal and yesterday a large amount of property was identified by persons with whom the girl has been living. Among the articles she ‘has, are razors, stove-blacking, jewelry, quartz specimens, handkerchiefs, table __knives,spoons and numerous other articles, many of whigh were of no use toher. The Marshal has a greater variety of articles in his possession than could be found in any variety store in the county. The girl was lodged in the calaboose. She does not but wants to know when she is “goihg to get out.” She will probably be examined . on the charges against her to-day. 4 Bau. at Roven & Reaby.—On Wednesday evening, November 21st, a grand ball will be given at Walling’s Hotel, Rough & Ready. Walling has the reputation of giving the most pleasant parties in the county, and they are always largely attended by persons from Nevada and Grass Valley. There will be a full -moon weather continue pleasant, the driving will be excellent: Good music. has been secured and one of Walling’s best suppers will be spread for the guests. A Gorcxous Stan.—R. H. Rowe, pair: ter, has executed a gorgeous sign, which is designed to inform people where they can get all sorts of painting done. The _ colors, and has upon it, an interior view of & paint shop, in which are geen all the materials of a painter and a number of signs which have just been painted. Among them we notice oneof the TRANSCRIPT Office. The new sign is a very creditable piece of work. New PostaL ARRANGEMENTS.—The . following changes in Post Offices have been made in Nevada county. 8. H. Sheffield has been appointed Postmaster at Rough and Ready, and Alonzo Schutt has. been appointed at Littie York. The Post Office at Mountain Wells has been discontinued and parties who received their let*ters through that office must now come to+ Nevada. NEw Proprierors.—Squarza’s succes. sors, Messrs. Cimmino & Bona, are doing @ thriving business at the well known punch rooms, opposite the What Cheer House, San Francisco, and invite all the friends and patrons of their predecessor to calland see them.
