We have noticed the foregoing para—
graph in several interior papers. Mr.
Wuite never had the editorial manage-~
ment of the Times. He was employed
for.a short time upon the staff, and
teased Tis Connection therewith several
cays before the campaign closed: The
editorial management ot the Z7imes has
been in the hands*of but one person

The information is entirely unnecessary to those who know Waiteand have
been readers of the Times. Waite is
one of the ablest and most vigorous
writers-in the State, and if he had conTimes it would have been a live paper.
Fora few days after he went there
considerable life was manifested in the
paper, but it was soon squelehed out
and the paper relapsed into its old
wishey-washey, slushey style: Quitea
froin this city, but the papers were, after a few weeks left in the Post. Office
or thrown aside unopened. No one believed that Waite had anything to do
with the paper, but the universal opinion was that some nnqualified bore had
the control of the concern. If the proprietors of the Times expect. to make it
a leading Union paper a complete revolution in its management is necessary.
