instant, at his residence, after a

called to bear to the grave his early
friend, companion and brother, the

hearts. We have kuown the deceased from boyhood. -Iu bis youthful day we knew Charley as a bright
and scholarly lud, the pride of his
blind father und the bope of his devoted-mother. ‘He grew to munhowd
in his native tuwo of Syracuse, New
York, respected by all. The deceased removed to Auburn, while
quite young, where~he studicd law

Friday afternoon. Orville Bosserman
a boy 12 years of age, son of Saninet}
Bosserman, was accustomed to exercise on a swing, and, standing on a
box, would turnthe rope under his
armpits and throw himself forward
with all his strength so as to make
the swing rise to the greatest possible height. No one was present
when’ the accident occurred* But it
was evident that the rope bad slipped
from under his arms and caugbt bim
by the neck. He had been engaged
in-conversation with his mother not
more than ten minutes before the
accident was discovered. She aftérwards ‘called to him from the kitchen,
and, hearing no response, she went
out and found him suspended by the

‘Jar Allen Mincr 1 Springs, in Lake county.It is known tosome that I have been an
invalid since 1863. Last May, heariny of
the Allen Springs, I visited them, and was
induced to give them a trial. Ina few
days I felt a decided improvement, ard for
the first four wecks my sympt)»ms were
varicus. Sometimes worse and then better. but on the whole the feeling :f returning health was predominate. I persevered, and now am rewarded with a complete restoration to health.
The waters have been analyzed by Prof.
W. T. Wentzell of San Francisco, and
found to contain chloride of sodinm, magnesium and potassium, bicarbonate of magnesiuin sodium, and calcium, sulphate of
sodium; phosphate of iron, stlica, carbonic
acid. The water is strongly aerated with
carbonic acid, with the salt® sodium,
and magnesium, and of iron
precominating, thereroré’ thd mediviual
value of the water ls superior. The location is one of the pleas .test to be found
in the Coast Range; its walks are shaded
by foregt trees, of fir, «pruce, live oak etc.
The climate is not surpassed anywhere on
the Coast, the air being ' very balmy and
pure. The altitude ig about 7,500 feet
above tide wat r,and the winds are broken
by mountain ranges,-morth and south. The
average maximum tewperature is about

sptings for only three or. fuur weeks and
return home cured—cured of some longstanditg complaint. In chronic cases
more time is usually required to eff-ct
