‘The Guild Party.
The entertainment given at the
Union Hotel Wednesday evening
was socially a greater success than
the previous one at the same place,
and the financial results were of such
liberal proportions ‘as to make excceedingly glad the hearts of the energetic and public spirited ladies
who had the management of the affair. There was an artistic programme of musical and literary exercises, including-a piano solo by
Mrs. F. G. Beatty, a recitation by
Miss Ida Maltman, vocal solos by
“Mrs, H. S. Welch and Miss Bessie
Hudge, and vocal imitations by
Charles White. The evening was
principally given up to dancing, Mr.
Michell being the prompter and
Messrs, Elser and Beckett the musicians. Refreshments were served
and ¢verybody went home happy.

A Warlike Brute.
Yesterday morning a son of Thomas Mooney of Selby Flat mounted a
