—
Washoe “Spups."—The inhabitants of .
the “sage brush” regions have tieretufore
depended entirely upon Cahfornia for food,
but within the last ten days the tables. have
been turned, and Nevada i is now sending
food to this State. On Sunday last 4,000
pounds of fine potatoes, and on Monday
5,500 pounds more of “spiide’’ were brought
nté this town. The drouth in this State
almost entirely destreyed the crop of this
indespeneible vegetable. The Nevadans had
profit: We understand that the two loads
that came in were raised in Truckee and
Carson yee
A Reset. “Tropny. —The first trophy
fromthe” Virginia rebels was brought into
It
was a broom adorned with ribbons aod stars,
‘and’ occupied a prominent place in the recent broom ranger procession in that city.—
It was borne aloft in that demonstration by
Tom Henry, formerly ef this place. The
broom was captured by a Union man ‘and
brought to this city. On the road he was
often assa'led by jeers, but bore all the ins
sults patiently, believing ‘as he did that a
“man who carried one of these copperhead
symbols ought to be abused. “Blaze” now
has charge of the broom. He has added
another and much more appropriate badge of
copperheadism in the shape of a snake. —
