Tae Laptks’ Farr.—The Bazar, under the auspices of the Ladies’ Episcopal Society of this city, will commence
at Temperance wall this evening, an!
continue through to-morrow evening.
~The managers have been engeged for
several months in making up useful,
articles which will be offered for sale,
and every effurt will be made to contribute to the pleasure of those. who
attend. There will be no charge of
admission to the Hall, and citizens will
find the Fair, during its continuance, a
pleasant place of resort, either for
promenad¢,or to enjoy a social chat

BoaRD oF SuPERVIsORS.—The Board
_of Supervisors met yesterday morning
_ and commenced the examination of the
Supplemental Assessment Roll. They
completed the exainination of Rough &
Ready township. A number of com.
plaints have been received by the Board
‘in reference to the original Assessment
Roll, but that has long since passed
out of their power, and can not now. be
changed. Those who have complaints
to make in regard to assessments on
the Supplemental Roll, may do so now,
and havea change made upon proper

Petrr Larceny.—Ah Tick, was
brought down from Truckee, on Sunday, by Constable Martin, and lodged
in jail to serve out a term of twenty.
five days for petit larceny, in stealing
cigars, The Chinaman took the plunder from the store of S.Hyman, on the
27th of Oct., was tried before Justice
King, and sentenced for the term above
stated.
THE GRAND Juny.—The Grand Jury will meet atthe Court House tomorrow morning at 10 0’clock. During
the session, the case of, McCrackin,
charged with the murder of Ellen Davis, will be investigated. There is not
@ great deal of work for the Jury, but
this-case-will probably be a tedious one
CHANGE OF TIME.— We are informed
by W. H. Davidson, stage agent, that
a change in time will be made on the
10th inst., so that the Telegruph stage
from Colfax will reach this city with
mails at 6 o’clock P.M. This will bea
great. improvement upon the present
arrangement.
County Taxus.—The 15th day of
November will be the last day for the
payment of taxes to the County Collec_
tor, On the evening of that day the
assessment rolls will be passed over to
the County Auditor, after which the
five per cent will be added. Tax pay:
ers should be on hand and save expense.
