Yesterday morning, in less than two. hours, $17,500 was subscribed to the Nevada City, Grass Valley} and Colfax railroad project. The distance is esti. mated at 21 miles, and it is necessary to raise $21,000 before the incorporation ofthe Company. -The-entire amount could have been raised in Nevada, but it is proposed te give Grass Valley a chance in the Company. Hanson, A. W. Lester, C. E. Mulloy, A. Isoard, J. E. Johnston, E, W. Bigelow, L. H. Wells, A. N. Henwig. Stock was taken in Grass Valley by the following persons: Wm. Watt, A. Delano, Campbell & Stoddard, Martin Ford, M. C, Taylor, W. K. Spencer, rate the Company has already been tken. There was never a movement inaugarated which was so promptly aided by our citizens, It required no urging toe induce them to take stock, and double the amodat of money could have been secured had the effurt been made. We understand a meeting of the sabscribers will be held early in the coming week; and the subscribers will then de cide upon a course to be pursued. The company will be incorporated aad steps taken te secare the object. In this meantime, if thereare any citizens who desire te become original stockholders, they can do so by making their wishes known to any ef the subscribers. A number who have already sabscribed to stock; sigaify their willingness, if. necessary, te increase the amount of their subscription. ea Advertised Letters.
