At Malikoff, the Nerth Bloomfield
yesterday, have found excellent pfospectsin, gravel. They. are. sinking
three shafts'in each of which excellent

The owners are delighted with the indications thus far found, and have become satisfied of the ‘necessity of miaking a tunnel to tap the basin, in order . .
to work to advantage. They think
that an opening may be obtained for
profitable working by running from
Humbug Creek below the fails. The
distance of tunnel required will be
about 5000 feet. With such a piece of
work the company will have opened
one of the richest and most. extensive
gravel claims in the county, according
to the opinion of miners.
Delinquent Taxes.
Sjate and county taxes must now be
paid at the county Treasurer’s office,
quires that tax-payers must obtain a
certificate of the amount of taxes due,
with a description of the property from
the Auditor. These must be presented
lect} five per cent additional, and give
them. recvipts—the original tobe kept
by the tax-payer, and duplicate te be
filed with the Auditor and district atter-,
ney. On the first Monday of December, the delinquent list is to be turned
-over to the District Attorney, and suits
‘will be commenced for all unpaid taxes.
A Bad Road.
-Namerousand well founded reports
are made about the condition of. the

The road is. without exception the
season it should be in the best condition. When winter comes on it
will be almost impassable. There is
some talk of asking the sapervisors -to
take away the right to collect toll on
this foad.

San Francisee should invariably stop at the
Cosmopolitan Hotel, corner of Bush and
Sansome Streets. Itis decidedly the best
