The other day a man riding on horseback started.to cross suspension bridge. There were several persons on the bridge at the time, and before the horseman had mude his passage there were. no people within forty feet of the Wire éstablishment. The horse was a pacer, . and his gait set the bridge in a switying-motion;—which—mude things crack in and about one of the cables _ which enters the ground on othe ~ north side. Davenport. At half past éix o’ ‘lock A. Mi; Tuesday, I. T. Davenport, an vid Tesident of this county, died. at his residence in this city. He'was prostrated with astroke of paralysis , about a week since, and remained helpless—and we believe unevunscious—up’to the time of his death. Deceased was once elected Recorder of Nevada county, and served out _his,term, He was also Deputy Re-, ‘corder under J. M. Walling. His health has been feeble for several years, having once before been paralyzed.
