The Daily, Trane _ ‘Brown & Carus.. Proprietors. SATURDAY, MAY-9, 1835. eR VALLEY Fox. ey — hant is sae 8 a ce hyceaie Thus the Marysville. Appeal taunts the Supervisors at the State capital because foysocth the latter ‘are beginning. .toshow some signs of retirning reason on the ' plickens question, and at a meeting held last week indicated by their course that they had wearied _ of keeping their-treasury drained -_in-a fruitless effort to<destroy the hydraulic mining industry. They _ have evidently found that the-law and public sentiment are both on the miners’ side, after having ~ payed extravagantly for the information, and are now manly enough to acknowledge by their actions, if not by their words, that it is time to call a halt in the warfare they have so energetically and persistently carried on for several years past. The course of the Yuba county Supervisors and their allies, fhe Anti-Debris Association, has driven away the lucrative mountain trade that Marysville once thrived on, They have doné their hellish work to the crack of the lawyers’ whip, which: is the Appeal. The anti-miners __..0f Marysville have led the com~—paunity into a trap” where” that’ “community’s tail has keen cut off very short, and they are endeavoring to prevail upon all their valley neighbors to follow suit. Their prospects of getting Sacramento into the same trap are extremely poor.. Sacramento’s mountain “trade is its tail, and that tail is the'envy of Marysville. We advise Sactamento.not to be persuaded into cutting it off at the instigation of tailless Marysville. Muu ScArcar’s-husband bought $2,000 worth of pearls from a San Francisco jeweler for his wife, and gave his check therefor. He discovered after leaving the city _that._the pearls were pierced at .oneend, so stopped payment of the check. The San Francisco jeweler claims the piercing’ does not hurt the: pearls and has brought suit against the buyer for his money,Caries A.
