RoaD MATTERS.— We understand that George Gepbard,: Road Commissioner, will, if possible, examine all the county reads before the winter sets in and let contracts for keeping them in repair. This is necessary in order that the roads may be drained for the winter, Of course it will be impossible for any grading to be done during the winter as the roads so improved would be washed away by the first rain. Mr. Gephard is thoroughly posted as to roads and we are confident that he. will make a ‘faithful and efficient officer. He thinks that all the roads ought to be kept in good repair, a certain proportion of the fund each year should be devoted to permanent improvements, such as gra” ding, graveling, etc, If this is done we will, under the present road law, have ina few years excellent roads throughout the county. .
