BEATTY'S Best Parlor Organs
THE LATEST STYLE, SWEETEST TONE,
Dimensions: Length 43 ions, Tete
inches; depth 22inches. "4
NEW STYLE NOW READY FOR 1887.
BEATTY’S BEST is the leadin style .
It is beyond doubt the very best for the
money in the world.
DESCRIPTION OF BEATTY’§S BEST.
Solid Black Walnut. It is a magnificent
cabinet or parlor organ, suitable for the parlor of a millionaire, built from the very
choicest of materials the market affords or
ready money can buy. Made after an upright Piano Forte, with three bellows combined—a new scientific plan—so as to render
all the sweetest melodies possible from the
Golden Tongue, Reeds, patented, while at
the same time doing away with so many
stops to confuse the performer, yet at the
same time bringing out sweeter music than
ever. In this Organ attention is paid more
articularly to its mugic, yet the case is finshed very neat bu: plain, finished light, so
that the haser can see for himself that
it is not tation walnut built from pine
wood, but solid walnut, built plain, so as not
to take dust or dirt. Contains 18 full sets of
golden tongue reeds of one-half octave each,
and 12 full stops. The two knee stops throw
on the balancé. NO dummies. Equal toa
36-stop Orgau. Elegantly finished and embellished with handsome polished panels
and exquisite fret work designs. Thus it
will be seen we offer an instrument having
every requisite of the most perfect parlor
Organ in a handsome solid walnut cage.
OCTAVE COUPLER
The Octave Coupler differs from those in
any other styles, and is the greatest invention GH ae be in reed Organs. It is a pa
tent divided octave coupler, and couples
full five octaves, thus doubling the power.
It is divided at the third octave, has two
coupler stops, so that the bass and treble can
be coupled together or separately,as desired.
It is made of strong coppered steel rodg, and
isan invaluable improvement on the old
pernicious 35-cent wooden couplers in general use, which couplés only four octaves,
haye o ly one coupler stop, which warp,
swell and disarrange the entire action. To
avoid getting a 35-cent wooden coupler, buy
no hg a that has not two coupler stopsg, and
that does not couple both ways, up 4
down. Examine the stops carefully and i
you cannot find two coupler stops do not
uy the Organ; it has a wooden coup!er,and
a wooden coupleris a continual source of
annoyance, and renders an organ worthless
after a few months’ use. Best pantented
stop action to be found in the world. ~~

Prior to the location of the line of the
Woodland, Capay and si ea Railroad,
the Capay Valley Land Company, a corpération composédphiefly: of the Direct¢rs and
Officers of the Southé?m Pacific Company,
purchased on the line of tti¢ proposed road,
bir“ sige in Capay Valley: itself, through
wilfeh the rogd fs being extended from
edison in Yolo sounty—aéyveral large bodés of the choigest lands to be found in tat
beautiful and fertile Valley. Tite construction of the Woodland, Capay and Cleér Lake
Railroad is being pushed with great energy,
and will reach very early completion. The
line of this road passer immeédiately through
the lands owned by the Capay Valley Land
Company, which Kinds will be immediately
. subdivided into small tracts, several town
sites established and the lands and the town
property plaeed on the market.
Capay Valley is located on the western
side of Yolo county, ana fs one of the most
fertile and pieturesque-valleydon the Pacific
Coast. The lands in this valley have heretofore been owned in large holdinge; the
growing of wheat has been the chief agricultural industry, which, owing to thegreat
fertility of the soil, the warmth and salubrity of the climate, the heavy annual precipitation of rain, and the perfect protection
which the configuration of the valley affords against the north winds; has proven:
highly profitable. At intervals, however,
throughout the valley, orchards may be
seen, and these experiments in the line of
Orange and lemon trees of most thrifty
growth may be seen in the gardens and orchards. Grapes, apricots, figs, pears, cherries,
almonds, peaches, and all the other fruits
to be found in the most favored localities,
reach here the greatest“ perfection. The
very earliest fruits and vegetables appearingin Sen Francisco and other markets are
grown in this valley, With respect to early
production, Capay. Valley ranks fully with,
if not superior to, the celebrated Vaca and
Pleasant Valleys. This fact alone ‘confers
a very high premium upon the lands to be
be offered. The orchardist, vineyardist and
gardener of Capay Valley can place ripe
fruits and vegetables in the San Francisco.
and Chicago markets at the high rate usually obtained for early fruit, and from four to
six weeksin advance of nearly every other
portion of the State of California. Under
Valley, lands have reached @ valnation of
$600 an acre, and have proven highly profitable investments at that price. The lands
to be offered by the Capav Valley LandCompany are in all respects equal in fertility,
and lie under equal climatic advantages
with the mogt favored orchard and garden
lands of the State.
One of the leading objects of the purchase
of this land by a syndicate of persons interested in the success of the railroad to be constructed was to secure the gubdivision of
the land into small holdings, and to pro
mote the dengity of settlement. Keeping
this object steadily in view, some of the
largest and most fertile tracts will be subdivided into tet and twenty acre lots, and individuals will be gtrictly limited to the ownPatel es a “2 to the contre w&f thy tracts }us
may be fouud convenient or judicious, and
the purchasers of orcherd or garden Jand in
pmall tracts will be permitted to purchase
not to exceed five lots in the town site plats.
In thig way it is designed to est@plish populoug and. t! riving communities; whose
growth and prosperity shall be based upon
small holdings of very fertile and highly
profitable lands, Ten acres of this fertile
land under climatic conditions so favorable to orchard and garden culture. may be
made as profitable and responsive to intelligent industry ag 160 or 320 acres of lad de
voted to the growth of cereals. The very
early maturity of fruits and vegetables already alluded to will secure to the cultivator the highest market price, while the road
to be constructed, being under the management and control of the owners of the land
to be offered, will afford every facility for
the shipment of fruits and vegetables, and
in every respect promote the success of these
enterprises. :
Geographically, Capay Valley lies immediately west of the beautiful and thriving
city of Woodland, the county seat of Yolo
county. Itg trend ig northwest and southeast, having a length of twenty-six miles
and an average width of three miles. Cache
creek ig a very considerable stream of water
even at its lowest stages, and every piece of
land offered is either intersected or washed
upon one of its boundaries by this stream
of pure cold water. Gardens and orchards
may be brought to the highest stage of perfection without irrigation. The annual rain
ig abundant for all horticultural purposes,
but should irrigation be desired for the purpose of producing more than one crop of
vegetables in a single season, or for the purpoge of producing perennial crops, abundant weter facilities are at hand for that
purpose.
The line of the Woodland, Capay and
Clear Lake Railroad Company is being graded from Madigon, the present terminus of
the Vaca Valley and Clear Lake Railroad,
westward through the valley, and the road
will be equipped and in running‘order at an
early day through its entire length. Itis the
design to offerthese lands at rates and upon terms of payment which will afford the
highest encouragement to their actual occupation by # large and industrious class of
people. Surveyg for t:wn gites and subdivisiong of these large tracts »f lands are in
progress, and mane of such sus vevs are in
reparation. Owing to the large num ber of
nquiries goncerning the intention of the
Capey Valley Land Com y regarding
these lands, this preliminary announcement hag been deemed necessary.
