The provisions of this section do not apply to exhibitions or entertainments given
for the benefit of ckurches, schools or other
charitable entertainments, by any amateur

tion or entertainment is given.
SECTION V
Every persop whosells spirituous, malt or
fermented liquors or wine in less quantities
than one quart, must obtain a license from
the Tax Collector and must pay therefora
license tax of fifteen dollars per quarter.
2. Every person who gelis malt or fer
mented Hquors or wine in less quantities
than one quart, and who does not sell spirituous liquors, must pay therefor a license
tax of nine dollars per quarter.
SECTION VI.
Every person who ata fixed place of business sells any goods, wares or merchan
dise, wines, or distilled liquors, drugs or
medicines, jewelry or wares nade of precious metals, whether on commission or otherwise (except agricultural or vinicultural
productions, or the productions of any

who keep horses or carriages for hire (exceptsuch as are used in the transportation
of goods), must obtain from the Tax Collector of this county Jor each branch of sueh
business, license, 1nd pay quarterly thereforan amount of money to be determined
by the class in which such person is placed
by the Tax Collector of thig county; sueh
busjness to be classified and regulated by
the amount of the average monthly sales
made or hiring done, and at the rates following:
1. Those who are estimated to make average month)y sales of five thousand dollars
or more constitute the first class, aud must
pay five dollars per month.
2. Of two thousand five hundred dollars
and less than five thousand per month constitute the second Class, and must pay three
dollars per mouth. ®
3. Of all amounts over twelve’ hundred
and fifty dollars and less than twenty-five
hundred dollars per month constitute the
third’ class, and must pay one dollar and
fifty cents per month.
4. Of all amounts less than twelve hundred and fifty dollars per month constitute
the fourth class and must pay one dollar
per month; provided that the sales of lig
uors and wines by persons licensed under
section six of this ordinance must not be in
quantities of less than one quart measure;
and further provided that no license must
: SECTION VII,
Every traveling merchant, hawker or ped
dier whocarries a pack and yends goods,
wares or merchandise of any kinds must
pay for a license five dollars per mouth; and
every such traveling merchant, hawker or
peddler who uses a wagon, Or one or more
animals for the purpose of vending such
goods, wares or merchandise of any kind
must pay a license of fifteen dollars per
month,
SECTION VIIL.
Every person who keeps stallion, bull
or jack, and who permits the same to be used
forthe purpose of propagation ‘for hire,
must obtain a license therefor from the Tax
Collector of this county and pay therefor as
follows: a
1.* Horsesthat are hired for the purpose
of propagation, by the season, at fifty dol
lars or more, constitute the first class, and
must pay a license tax of forty dollars.
2. At thirty dollarsand less than fifty dol
lars Constitute the second class, and must
pay twenty-five dollars.
3. At fifteen dollafs and less than thirty
dollars constitute the third class, and must
pay fifteen dollars.
4. Allatless than fifteen dollars consti
tute the fourth class and must pay ten dollars. ‘
6. For each jack ten dollars.

SECTION IX,
For each license issued the collector must
collect a fee of one dollar in addition there
to, which shall pay all fees and expenses of
eollection, and of the said dollar 50 cents
his own use to cover the expense of collecting licenses under this ordinance. ~
SECTION X.
Every person, company or corporation en
gaged ‘A or who’ghall hereafter engage in
the business of raising, herdfng or pasturing sheep within the County of Nevada shall
procure fromthe Tax Collector of the County of Nevada, and pay license therefor of
five cents per head per annum, for each
hedd of sheep usedin such business within
said county by such person, company or
corporition; but no license shall. be issued
under this ordinance for a less term than
one year. ;
SECTIOQN XI.
The Tax Collector shall receive for his
own use for collecting licenses under Section 10 of this ordinance a fee of twenty-five
per cent, of all moneys collected. for licenses under Section 10 of this ordinance, and
shall pay into the Lonny Treasury all sums
go collected in excess of hissuid fee, which
shell be placed to the General Road Fund of
the county of Nevada.

It is further ordained that if any person
or persons, whether principal or principals,
