Caught at Last.
B. F. Clark has confessed tostealing $4,648 worth of amalgam from
the Eureka mine, Plumas county.
He was assistant ama!lgamutor; The
bullion was exchanged at Carson for

this city. “He came here last June,
stayed at the National Hotel over
night, after which he went to North
Bloomfield. Within two days he
was at Lake City, and sdon after at
San Juan. From the latter place he
hurried to Marysville, A detective
who passed through here on his track
recently found that he also had his
coin shipped by express to. two or
three different points after he left
here. The wanderer was at last captured oma ranch near the Oregon
House, Yuba county, which he had
purchased with the illy acquired coin.
He is now in jail at Plumas awaiting
trial,

and his brother will make a contract
with the South Yuba Company soon
for water with which to work their
claim this winter, Should they conclude to begin washing, it will necessitate the digging of a ditch. The
water would probably be conveyed

who made a large clean-up a couple
of weeks since, are still washing.
They will quit soon in order to fit
