An Omaha telegram of the 11th
says: The sudden fall in the temperature, followed by snow, has eurprised the ranchmen on the plains
to-day. About six inches of snow
had fallen at eleven o’clock last
night at Denver, and it,is still snowing bard, with no wind blowing.
Four inches of snow lay on the
ground at Sidney last night, and it
is still snowing with the thermometer at 48>. Between one and two
inches of snow fell at Cheyenne at
eleven o'clock last night,and a slight
snowfall continues.

Prison Directors met at San Quentin
on Wednesday and elected John
