the late festival held by the Sisters of Mercy
at the Capitol, Sacramento. for the benefit
of the balf-orphanage, amounted to $1,000.
Tne Unsfermeated Bread Company, San
Francisco, have been mulcted in the sam of
$450 50, damages sustained by the bread
‘wagon running over a child named Howe.
Tag Wasnoe Fain.—The Pavilion which
is being built in Carson by the Carsonites, in
aid of the first Territorial Fair, is to be in
the form of a cross, eighty-eight feet. deep,
and twenty-four to each of the four froute.

ecunomically. The Warden in his first annual report gives the finaneial condition thus:
“Paid into the State Treasury as receipts
from convict labor, $2,500; value of material on hand $2,500; expenses, $6,500;
