Clouds continue to grace the sky, but they fail to get up a rain. = ee The Eureka Mine, i We are in receipt of the Annual Report of the Eureka Gold Mining Company of Grass Valley, and find _ init the following facts of interest. There has been hoisted_the~past year, 8,207%4 tons of~quartz, and SN30 tons were crushed. There are 228 tons on the surface, and 3501broke in the mine ready for hoisting. There has*beea 73% tons of sulphurets concenirated and 89 tons worked and there is still 1644 tons on hand. The receipts from various 8auitcés for the year were $341,779 06> The dividends declared amounted to $80, . 000. The receipts of the Company since going into operation in. 1865 have been, $4,308,538 87, of which $2,615,936 94 have been net profits. The future prospects of the mine ac-cording to the report of the Superin_teudent is one of great doubt. From Pills to Congress. Dr. J. ©. Ayer, the great patent medicine man of Lowell, has been nominated for Congress, from the 7th Massachusetts District, and he. will probably be eleeted. The energy and business sagacity heretofore exhibited by him prove him to bea man of ability and he will no doubt ' purge Congress and rid it of many-of the disorders now affecting it.
