NOTICE.—Holdersof Tickets to the Gift
Concert in aid of the Mercantile Library Association, are hereby notitied, that the Con
cert is postponed until
Monday, Oetober 31, 4879,
Unexpected interferences have operated to
make this delay necessary to accomplish the
result of freeing the Library from debt, withont recoursé to other privileges granted by set
of the Legislature, passed February 19, 18:9.
This 1s positively the only postponement
which willbe made. The Concert-will take
place on the day above named, commencing
at 9 o’cloek, A. M,, and to continue until ali
the gifts have been awarded.
The fands.already in bank,are considerably
more than Sufficient to insure the successful
completion of the contract with the public.
The sale of Tickets will positively close on
Friday, the 28th day of October, 1870.
All Tickets remaining unsold at that time
will be withdrawn from sale and cancelled.—
They will be advertised by their numbers, on
the 29th day of October, 1870, in one or more
of the daily papers of.this city. Any diminntion thus made in the number of tickets to be
drawn, will not affect the number or amount
of gifts. They will be as heretofore advertised, to-wit : 628 gifts, amounting in all to $500,000 gold,
Ticket holders residing out of San Francisco
will receive duly accredited lists of the awards
of Gifts, which will also be published in the
leading Saw’ Francisco daily papers, on the ist

Street,
The Trustees ofthe City of Nevada db ordain as follows : ;
Section 1. It is hereby declared necessary
for the public use and cdlivenience that Sidewalks be coustructed on both sides of Commercial street-between Pine and Broad streets,
and property holders are hereby required w
construct the same in front of their respective
lote, in the manner hereinafter described, on
or before the ist. day of November, 1970.
SreTion 2. Said Sidewalks shall be five feet
in width, with not less than three stringers
of three by, four inches, with plank covering
not less than an inch and ahaliin thickness,
and nailed down with twenty penny nails ;
they shall be constructed under the superias
tendence and cirectioa of the City Marshal
and have the same. grade as the street.
SrerTion 3. In case of the neglect or the refuisal ef any of the property holders to comstruct the Sidewalk in front of their reepective lots as above required, it shall be the duty of the City Marshal to proceed and construct the samme, and report the cost to the
