By the prompt exertions of those around the premises, the fire was subdued w -iafout the intervention of the Fire Department. But notwithstanding Weiss’ premises are in the town limits, being situated on Sacramento street, yet they are not within a quarter of a mile of a fire plug, and the Department could have been of little.or no assistance in subduing the fire.
