Fire at Weisa’ Brewery. :
“Yesterday afternoon about 1 o’clock,
the kitchen, at Weiss’ Brewery, took
fire from some cause, and for a few
minutes blazed up quite lively. By
the prompt exertions of those around
the premises, the fire was subdued
w -iafout the intervention of the Fire
Department. But notwithstanding
Weiss’ premises are in the town
limits, being situated on Sacramento
street, yet they are not within a
quarter of a mile of a fire plug, and
the Department could have been of
little.or no assistance in subduing
the fire.

posite, Masoniv Hall, for dhe-pent
few days, was caused by the continuous arrival of ‘prairie schoonrs,’’ freighted with an immense invoice of Clothing, Underwear, Hats,
Caps, Umbrellas, Trunks, Valises,
etc. This is the largest and most
fashionable stock of gentlemen’s and
youth’s Clothing ever brought to
Nevada City, and Casper. now promulgates to the world in general, and
the residents of Nevada county in.
particular, that he will sell his mammoth stock of Clothing, either at
wholesale or rétail, from fifteen to
twenty-five per cent. cheaper than
can be purchased at any other store.
Casper does not say this for ‘‘blowing’’ purposes, but he’ means business. His facilities for obtaining
goods 1 are better than others, his expenses are 1es8,no heavy rent to pay,
and as @ consequence he sells cheaper. Everyboy is invited to call and
examine the new styles, at Casper’s.
His Overcoats are really beautiful,
and his French Cassimere Hats will
make gentlemen of all who wear
them, Casper knows just what the
people want, and’he has something
good for every one. Remember the
place, opposite Masonic Hall, Pine
street, and by making your purchases there you will save movey.

Systems Run Down.
Persons often allow their ‘systems to
“ran down,” or rather run them down by
npver-work, accompanied by a neglect of
the proper means of invigoration.qThe
result is what is called general ‘‘debility;”
in other words, a failure and partial collapge of the physical forces, accompanied
usually by great depreasion of spirits.
The best remedy in such cases is Hostetter’s Stomech Bitters. Whether the state
of exhaustion has been brought on by ex.
cessive physical labor, dissipation, anxicty
of mind, exposure, or any other cause, the
remedial effect of this great stomachi¢ will
be found equally prompt and certain. As
@ restorative after severe illne:s has prostrated the bodily and mental energies, it
is pronounced by competent medical authority the best tonic in use, If men were
not foolishly careless sbout their health,
and over-confident in themselves, they
would always, when engaged in any work
that required great exertion, use corresponding means of sustaining their strength.
For this purpose Hostetter’s Bitters are in
valuable. All toilers should use them as
an invigorant.
For those constantly ‘employed in in‘t1ey may be reckoned as the
very . ~pafeguard of health. Where
or a, tendency to\ biliousness, they may be
truly said to be a specific for which thers
is no substitute. If there is a man or
woman who has ever tried it for indigestion without being benentted, the fact has
not transpired. Universal, un¢oniradicted
praise avouches its wonderful t-ric virtues
