HORRIBLE ACCIDENT.—We are grieved to learn that. B. Faucherie, the superijiten. . ‘dent of the Fellow’s lead and mill on the Middle Yuba, had an arm crushed by. being ~“eaught in the belt. on Friday last. Mons. ~~ Michel, who formerly resided here saw the accident, and having a stick of seantling ip his hands af the time he inetaritly thrust it into a wheel and stopped the machinery at once, and extricated the sufferer. Otherwise he would have beén torn in pieces. The right arm was crashed to jelly near the shoulder. Drg.R. M~ Hunt, of this city, ___Lefevre, of Sierra, -and-Hardy 0} “Moore's = ~ Fiat performed an amputation at 2 o’clock yesterday morning, unjointing the shoulder. The chances are in favor of the recovery of the sufferer. ’ Faucherie is the engineer who constructed the Magenta flume, and is a superb meéhanic pebably having no equals in this. part.of the State. The mill in which he has been mais ~ed, built by him, has been visited by Phim dreds on account of the perfection of every part of it. $250 Rewarp.—We notice a. handbill posted in our town, offering the above reward for Vincent E. Geiger, who murdered . . ' Capt. Wells at Tehama-a few days since. Geiger is described as a short thick set felx low, Stout forty years of age, weighing about 215 Ibs, formerly an editor and politician ec: The N. G. of the Shasta Dodge to which the murdered man belonged, offers the reward.
