street, San Francisco, where they have
on hand the largest stock of Howard,
Waltham, Elgin, and all watches made
in America, which they are selling at
factory prices. It will not make -apy
difference whether you send an order
or callin person to buy a watch, so far
as the price is concerned. “One price”
is their motto; and that is 50 per cent.
lower than any other trader can afford
to sell them. Cummings Bros. buy
hundreds of watches from the manufacturers where any other dealers buy one,
and of course they can sell them much
cheaper. Try them and see:

Whatis a tonic ?
is, to a certain extent, a stimulant,—a stimuLANT, UNMODIFIED BY ANY MEDICINAL SUB
STANCES, I8 NOT A TONIC, BUT A DEBILITANT.
In HOSTETTERS STOMACH BITTERS
there is @ stimulating element of the purest
grade manufactured in this or ary other
country. Every fiery and corrosive oil or
‘of commerce is expelled from the RY sPiRIT
which forms the alcoholic basi: of the BITTERS, by careful and repeated rectification.
herbs, infused into this wholesome product
of the finest grain, still farther modify its
nature; so that it becomes, in fact, a simple
diffusive agent, mrnus all the heady and brain
exciting properties which belong, more or
less, to all liquors in a raw state. It is
merely the safe and harmless vehicle which
renders the meditinal virtues of the preparation effective,— increasing their active power,
and diffasing them thrungh the system,
Hence the pleasant and gentle glow which is
experienced after taking a duse of the BITTERS. Instead of creating headache, as -unmedicated stimuiantsa are apt todo, this salubrious tonic is the best known remedy for
that complaint. It calms and soothes cerebral excitement, strengthens the nerves, promotes the secretion of the gastric juice, invigorates the bowels, determines the fluids to
the surface, improves the appetite. increases
the animal vigor, regulates organic action,
and, from its mild yet effective aiterative
qualities, is the very best. preparation that
can be administered to the weaker sex in the
the peculiar difficulties to which their or‘ganization subjects them.
