Locations of over one mile of ledges were yesterday filed in the ‘office of the County Recorder. Before the winter sets in there will probably be more than one hundred miles.of quartz located in the. new District. Fast TimE.-An Eastern letter was received in this city yesterday in 23 days from New York, by the Overland mail.— The mails by this route have been arriving every day for several weeks, and little fear interrupt communication. CLEAN STREETS.—The Grass Valley Union has the following item, in reference toa scene on one of the principle thoroughfares of that city : A lady way seen, yesterday, wilking along Mill street with the following articles, among others, adhering to the’skirt of her dress :— A carpenter's shaving, a dead mouse, a halfconsumed cigar, a bunch of horse hair coated, bacco, the half of an old bovt heel and a quantity of street droppings.
