AN ACT amendatory of and supplementary to
an Act, passed March 28d, 1550, to regulate
Klections. Approved April 4th, 1861. .
See. 1. Section 28 of said Act is amended so as
to read as follows ;
See. 28 Ifany person offering to-vote at any
Klection shall be challenged in relation to his
right to vote at the election, the Board or Judge
shall declare to him the qualifications of aneleetor, end the Inspector or one of the Judyes shall
tender tu him the following preliminary oath:

and truly answerall auth questions as shali be
put to you touching your place ot residence and
qualifications as ak elector?” V3
The Inspector or one of the Jadges shall thea
»sroceed toe question the person challenged in reFation to his name, hia then place of residence,

county, where his last place of residence waa, al
so as to his citizenship, and whether a native or
naturalized citizen, and ifthe latter, when,where
asd in what Court or before what officer he waa
naturaljzed, and ai] auch other questions as shall
tend to vest his qualifications as to citizenship
und right to vote:

cause to reject his vote, under the preliminary
examination, and the challenge shall not te

exceeding $500 or imprisonment not exceeding
six months, or by both such fine and imprison

the restitution of certain Mining Claims in Enreka Township, about a mile south-west o1 the
dam of the South Yuba Canal and Water Sompany. on the Oc‘idental Ledge, the boundaries
of which are specifically set forth in the com
plaint aforesaid. And you are hereby notified,
