As the wagon . . which was heavily loaded with lumber at Gregory & Co's. saw mill, was cumirig down . the heavy grade beyond the Crystal Spring House, the brake gave way and the “whieelers” were unable to held the wagon back. The team started on a run, and in. making a turn onthe dug road this side of the Crystal Spring House, team wagon aad lumber were thrown into a heap. Two horses and a mule were killed almost instantly, and’the wagon was considerably damaged. The less will amount te about five handred dollars.— Mr. Smith was un owner of some of the teas that went down with the Suspension bridge in this eity sevéral years since. #. Etection Rerurns.—The returns from every precinet except Donner Lake and Sammit Valley ‘have been sent to the County Clerk's office. In conseqnence of the negthe Board of Sppervisers could not commence to canvass the votes yesterday. Unless these precincts are heard from the votes cannot be counted until next Monday, Gentlemen who have made bets on the average majorities. will have to be patient until that time. We know of several that are anxiously waiting ia-hope that they may win or fear that they lose new clothes on the result. A Goop Run.—Several candidates upon the Union ticket in the recent election made extraordinary runs apd large inronds into the votes of their opponents. Judge Belden, R. H.'Karqiitia?, E.F. Spence, John ! Dick Gentry lead the ticket. It is dificult to tell-at this tlme who will get thehighest vote. Several places in Eureka township have not yet been heard from and should they turn out such majorities fur Caldwell as he received at Moores, he will probably lead the ticket, but time will tell. ° oie = Tue Tuearre To-Nicut.—Dan. Setchell and the Worrell Sisters supported by an excellent company will make their. second: appearance at the New Theater this evens ing. Everybody should be on hand as additivnal attractions are ta be presented.— Setchell will appear as “Spriggins” ia the farce of “Ici on Parle Francais” aud also as “Gay Goodluck, Esq.” in the sketch of “John Jones of the War Office.” The performsnee will conclude with the “Invisible Prince," one of the best pieces of the Worrell Sisters. The performance will be ealivened by comic songs, dances, and music by & splendid band under the direction of Mr. Schriner. The company is the largest whieh has visited this city fur several years and as their stay will be short we hope they will be greeted with good houses. Ge aad enjoy a hearty laugh—Setchell is a host in himself. Tastraicr Count, Yesterday.--The tollowing cases were set for trial: Allen ve Firtey, Oct. 19th. Clay vs Curtis, Oct. 19th.
