We call attention to the advertise-’ ment of J. J,_O.t, in to-day’s Transorter. Owing to ill health, he has not been able to attend to business for several months, but having fully recovered, he is now prepared te asgay and refine gold and ores of every description. . Sulphurets also assayed. Mr. Ott established his assay Office in 1853, in this city, and from his thorough knowledge of the business, he guarantees satisfaction. His place of business,on Main street, has been newly refitted and painted, and those who need his services will find him ready to transact promptly all business entrusted to him, Robbing a Money Drawer. The money drawer.of L. Dreyfuss, on Spribg street, was broken open last week, and robbed of $35 or $40. The drawer<was a patent one, with a bell attachment. While the family ' were at supper, the thief crawled through a side window, and tock out the screws that held the drawer to the counter, and thus abstracted the money without making any noise. . iste. Patrick has made many friends in this county since he has resided here, and they all wish him a Pleasant trip. He intends to be absent six’ weeks. Such, at least, is the inference we are compelled to draw from the testimony of thousands of persang residing in unhealthy districts;whoattribute their escape from the epidemic jn thé Sprirg and autumn solely to the use of this great protective and prev@ntive medicine. Many westcrn and southern farmers and planters, as invariably as they sow and plant in the spring, and reap and” gather in the fall. administér it at those seasons to their families and employes, and; take it themeelyes from twice tqthree tim:s a day. The demand for it in the fever and. ague districts "borderh g on the Mississippi, Ohio and Arkansas Rivers is iminense; and wherever the ngtural conditions are such as to generate intermittent or remittent fevers, it is held in the highest ‘esteem, both as an antidote to the atmospheric virus which provokes them, and as a swift and certain remedy for those dismtressing forms of disease. It is almost unnecessary to say that this renowned tonic and renovatoris now generally accepted as a standard specific for indigestion, biliousnes, nervous distemper, rheumrtism, physical weakness and mental despondency, not only by the public at large, but by all unpredudiced medical men.
