Saturday had the following : “Is it
possible that the nomination of
James A. Louttit, the Republican
nominee for Congress in this district, has so much disconcerted the
Democratic party that they ‘find it

for the candidacy ? Hon. James H.
Budd, in the es'imation of a large
majority of both parties the strongest
man in the district, has refused to
run, Hon. Hugh Corcoran, another
eminent San Joaquinite, also refuses
the honor. Hon. Charles Sumner
seems undecided, and the probability

Louttit, Brother Spencer indorses
