E. pulpit morning and evening. Taylor, the Grand Lecturer of Good Templars, will’lecture on temperance in Nevada City, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Walter A Skidmore, the recently appointed representative of the Hydraulie Mining Association, is visiting the various sections interested in the “‘slickens” subject. Grape-growers in this section of ‘the country say there is more money in grapes to manufacture them into ihe ak25 cents per gallon, than to -eure an arfet them as raisins. What is said to be the first quartzerusher used in California is now on exhibition at the El Dorado County Fair. It was put up at Kelsey, in that county, in 1850.
