then suddenly stepped back to his

that he was one of a gang who would
probably attack any party having

robber was looking for. Hé no
doubt . expected the bank treasure
would bein possession of some of
the officers of the institution, but in
that case he was mistaken. The

the watch for it, got fooled.oo

Stocks are getting very sick, and
and few there are that show any desire to by. Ophir was hawked on
the streets in San Francisco, on.

people will not buy stocks at any
price, and itis well they have come
to that conclusion for their own safety. All sorts of rumors are afloat as
to stocks going up for some time to
come,and they are generally believed,

bought up at.present prices, In San
Francisco it is predicted by many
that stocks will get a ‘‘terrible black
eye’’ before they go any higher. Of
course no one knows for a certainty

‘the Bailroad Company having about
two hundred yards of the track laid,

on the track, and Mrs. Rolfe jumped }

Mrs. Rolfe can claim the honor of

one hundred and twelve thousand
pounds, for Geo. E. Turner, of this

Co., and will be hauted to ‘this city
this week, The freight bill amounts
to $1,657 24, What a nice little dab
of freight that would be for our Narready for business.
