___ There were fifteen car loads of

Narrow Gauge. Railroad to Grass
Valley and this city. A portion of
it was brought up to this city yesterday morning, and a speciul freight
_. 4£ain was sent down in the forenvon
to bring: up the remainder, ‘Several

of Moore's Flat, Graniteville, Bloom-.

very lively around our depot on ac~ount of so many teams being employed in taking the freight to tha
places above mentioned.
There are some boys who go to the
public schools that are incorrigible.
We’ have heard of several cases
where the parents and teachers have
fuiled, thus far, to contrel them. In
‘their particular cases a new departure has been taken. With the con#ent of the parents, hereafter, they
willbe arrested and placed in the
city jail. Two boys have already
passed the diy in that place, anda
few others will be served in the same
manner if they do not mend their
ways, It is -@ severe punishment,
‘but parents and teachers seem to
think it tbe only remedy. ;
