Sigourn@, on Nevada streot, was eutered by burglars. _Mr. Sigourney and family were absent at thé State Fair, and the house was occupied by the girl. The rogues broke into the house through a side window, knocking out the sash and glass, evidently thinking the place unoccupied. The girl was aroused and heard them talking in the hall, though she could not distinguish the words used. They lita candle and placed itcn the sill. She opened the door and aske’ ‘hem what they were doing there. ne of . them said they had been sent to work; but supposed they had made a mistake in the place, and shortly after they went out. The girl thinks they were Americans from their talk, and says they were dressed in dark woolen clothes, and were of medium size. She was much frightened at the time, but thinks she could recognize the men if she saw them again. Supplement To-day. me _ We publish in a supplement to-day the speech of John Coghlan on his reception at Vallejo. It explains fully the terms of the proposed lease of Goat Island, and at a glance it will be seen far more favorable to the State than the grant advocated by the Union of 150 acres, and 500 feet right of way for railroad pyrposes in the same locality. The speech has been so grossly. misrepresented that the people ‘will find interest in a careful reading of it. Recorder's Office.
