The San Francisco Daily Exchange says: The Sacramento Bee says there State should keep on growing wheat, The Bee aidedin killing the hydraulic mining industry, which,’more than any ether cause, precipitated the hard times this State is now enduring, and now it wants to kill another great industry, that of wheat growing. We have not read in full the Bee’s argument in favor of the ‘suppression of wheat growing; it is not necessary to read it. We know by inspiration that the Bee means that the giving up of the fields to wheat is an outrage on the waternelon industry in Sacramento backyards, because if people could not get flour they would eat watermelons, and thus Sacramento’s chief industry would be benefitted. The Bee is thoroughly a Protectionist newspaper. ese Republican State Platform.
