ter of wild pigeons have been killed in the
neighborhood of Washiagtoa and Omega. —
__‘Quails, grouse, rabbite and squirrels, are}
abundant in every section of the county:
Many of our citizens have been out on hunts
ing excursiovs, and nearly all have succeeded
in either bagging or buying game enough to
make a show on their return.
THE STATE Fain.—The eleventh annual
fair of the Stato Agricultural Society, will
be held at Sucramento, from the 17th to
the 22nd of October, inclusive. We are
indebted tu I. N. Hoag, Secretary of the
Society, fora complimentary ticket. The
fair thie year, will be more ofa horse show
than anything else. Premiums are offered
for all classes of horses. The speed programmes the attraction. Premiems asigh as $1,000, are offered ander thie head
The fair for this season promises to be a
great attraction and a complete enccess.

Deus or rue Lieut Guanp.—A new
rule ‘for drill was adopted by the Nevada
Light Guard , of which it would be well for the
members te make a note. The drill is to be
the first Friday of each month, only once a
month, and on drill night the roll will be
called precisely at eight o'clock.’ All mem=
bers whe are not present at roll call will be
fined one dollar. The first drill under the
sew law will take place next Friday.
CLEANING AND Repaimine.—H. Kelliner,
on Pive street, near the corner of Broad,
is prepared to renovate soiled garments, and
make them look as good as new at a trifling

GRAPES. —We are indebted te M. 8.
Milhken for some excellent grapes. They
are of the Bisck Hamburg and White
Muscat of Alexandria, varieties. They are
very large. are fine flavored and were raised
on Mr. Milliken’s ranch, on the Washington .
toll road.

Tak Larcest CLoster.—The largest
cluster of grapes we have ever seen, we saw
yesterday at the fruit stand of Mr. Brigge
on Broad street. The cluster is from the
vineyard of F. G. Waite,‘on Piety Hill, and
weighs siz pounds anda half. This cluster
is of the Black Hamburg variety and was
taken from a vine twe years old,
