Total’ vote in the city is probably 97, 000; three precincts-to-hear from. It is generally conceded that the antimonopoly ticket is elected by a large majority. It is impossible to obtain returns to-night. The contest for Chief of Police is close. Both parties claim the election. Crowley is believed to be elected by 1,500 to 2,000. It will be noon to-morrow before .returns from the principal wards are made up. * In Downieville, Senators and Assemblymen favorable to Booth are elected. In Yuba county. the whole Republican ticket is elected without a doubt. In Solano county, the indications are that the Taxpayers Ticket is elected. Stockton returns come in slowly, and the impression is that the county will give a hand‘some anti-railroad majority. . The Sacramerto returns cannot be “obtained before to-morrow. ‘The Democratic party.is almost wholly ’ ignoréd. Republican majority of 500 or 600 conceded in the city, but the Taxpayers claim the county. Both parties are confident. Total eS iss in the city 4000. Forgiving.
