_ SEVERAL funny incidents occurred at the
late election, but for want of time we have
not been able to norate them. One of them
is too good to lose. It being hard work to
get a candidate for the bolter’s ticket, with
defeat staring them in the face, one who was
applied to said, “I do net want to-cun for an
Office as Ihave not got any money to-spend
for the canvass.” “Never mind,” said one
_of the leaders, “It shan’t cost you a cent.”
The man went on the ticket and it cost him
~ Just $300, all he had. The defeated candidate thinks the leader of the bolters intended to say that he would’nt have a cent left
