The statement that the bar of gold récently shipped from Harqua Hala was the largest ever made is incerrect. The Spring Valley mine at Cherokee, Butte county, made a lar worth $90,000 some years ago. One was made at Helena, Montana, valued at $100,000. While the famous Bodie pocket was being worked out two bara were shipped, the value of each being about $5,000.
