The brick being supplied to Grass

city can be seen chimneys erected
within the bast two years that -have
crumbled to such an extent as.to seriously mar the appearance of the
buildings. In one instance a chimney
erected less than a yeur had to be torn
down and rebuilt, so rapid had been
the disintegrating process. Tie brick

The Federal election bill introduced
by Mr. Lodge has not made a very
favorable impression upon Republicans, though it has greatly alarmed
the southern Democrats. The principal objection to it is it is too complicated aud cumbersome. Many
Republican members huve expreased
themselves as opposed to any Federal
election law at thistime, Mr. Lodge
saya he has noidea of unduly pressing
his bill; he only wants it carefully
considered and discussed.

To show that the. cures made by Joy's

we cite a fow instances where two in the
same family took it and were both cured.
Thomas Stephens, of 168 Sixth 8t., 8. F.,
took it for weak stomach and dyspepsia. It
entirely cured him, He then gave it to his
wife for her sick headaches, since which time
she has had no return. It cured them both,
Mrs, R, L. Wheaton, of 70 Post 8t., 8 F.,
was asufferer from stomach and liver troubles
and biliousness. Finding that it relieved
her, she gave it to a little girl living with
her whose affliction was a large open sore
which nothing seemed to heal. It also cured
the child.
IL 8. Wihn, of Geary Court, Geary 8t., 8. F.,

swing by a silken cord, it indicates by
its movements where the money or
hidden ore ie located. In the presence of witnesses Mr. Chellis has
tested his invention both with coin,
gold and silver ore, In a room or
hall, any person can secret a sum. of
or different sums of money, and Mr.
Chellis by means of the ball can find
each sum secreted, the larger quantitles being the first to attract the ball.
It worke equally well with gold and
silver ore, It will correctly locate a
mine at a distance of half a mile. It
will work equally well through air,
water, earth or rock, There are large
sums of money buried in various por
tions of the country, which Chellis
he can find. He has just been to
Marin county where $40,000 was buried by a rich old Spaniard some thirtyeight years ago. The ball readily
located the spot, being unerringly directed toward it from any point within
three hundred yards. A liole was
dug ten feet deep but-owing tothe oxcessive saturation of the soil, by rains,
the water drove'the searching party
away. Just soon as the earth becomes dry, Mr. Chellis will return.
He is satisfied he can locate the
buried treasure. Mr. Chellis has a
host of friends in this community who’
will be pleased to learn of his success.
The invention seems magical but it is
based upon scientific principles,

importance
not be overestimated, for without pure
blood you cannot enjoy good health.
At this season nearly every one needs a
good medicine to purify, vitalize, and enrich
the blood, and Hood’s Sarsaparilla is worthy
your confidence. . It is peculiar in that it
strengthens and builds up the system, creates
an appetite, and tones the digestion, while
it eradicates disease. Give it a trial.
Hood's Sarsaparilia is sold by all druggists.
