The exhibit is awaited with some interest, for the discovery of black marble in this State dates back only one year, The monument is being made at a quarry on the South Yuba’river, Rott Burrer 40 cents, Bricks 45 and 60. cents, At Gaylord’s. a21-tf +80 It is only of late years that rheumatism has been treated as a blood disease, But that this is a correct theory is proved by the extraordinary success attending the use of Ayer’s Sarsaparilla, in this painful and very prevalent malady. It seldom fails of radical cure. ~_— ——+-7@e Against the ‘*Seoners.’’ John I, Caldwell has handed us a newspaper clipping containing an article relating to. the decision of the U. 8. Supreme Court in the case of Smith vs. Townsend, a suit. growing out of the wrangle over land claims in Oklahoma. The.bulk.of.the business. done -in-this city is transacted during the evening, and the town naturally presents a dull appearance during the day. It is a Jerusalem at Chicago. Among the many exhibitions in Chicago, outside of the World’s Fair itself, few will be more interesting or praisworthy than the new Cyclorama of Jerusalem and the Crucifixion of the Savior that’ has been prepared at great expense and in a most elaborate manner for exhibition during the World’s Fair Season. The work ‘is being done under the peérsonal supervision of Mr. H. H. Gross, the director of artists of the great Chicago Fire Cyclorama, which gives assurance of its being, when completed, an Sieh tionly fine preduction. Thismost important of all historical events, we are informed, will be treated by the artist in the most tender aud rev— ential spirit and will embody many suggestions made by eminent divines and bible students, for the purpose ‘of mak ing it a great-and worthy historical work; as well as a beautiful voto of art. Che mammoth, canvas, 50 feet high and 400 feet long, is now receiving the fin ishing touches by the artists, aud will be open to the public, upon Wabash Ave. and Hubbard Court, on the Ist of May. No spot on earth is so rich in historic interest as Jerusalem and her environmént, and this great Cyclorama is de, signed to show in a realistic and faithful manner, the ancient city and the country for miles round about, and wiJl no doubt prove a very interesting and popular resort fur those who are interested jn this great event,—and whe is not interested init, pele gee eo ars Boys’ knee pants, sizes 4 to 13, for 25 cents a pair, at the selling out. place. aZ6.
