Eprror Transcrtet—On Friday last a goodly number of the good people of Washington and vicinity, with well filled lunch-baskets in hand, repaired to Keno Bar, a most picturesques point on the South Yuba about one mile above Washington and near the residence of J. Smith. It was a day of joy and pleasure to all in attendance and did much towards the abolishing of that old maxim, which says, «Picnics are but tests of muscle and patience.” The program for the day was varied, such as witticisms, songs, recitations, and a first-class epicurean picnic dinner, Dinner over all repaired to the cool and shady lawn adjoining Mr. Smith's residence, and on this lawn were run some very exciting foot-races. Among those present were Mr. aud Mrs. Cole, Warde and Cl yde Cole, Doctor and Mrs. Woodbridge, Mra. Foster, Mrs. Williamson and Messrs. Foster and William Williamson, of Washington; Mrs. E."Langford of Grass Valley; Mrs. Fred Naake, of Nevada City; J. Smith, of Keno Bar; Mrs. J. R. Wilson and Queenie and Burke Wilson, of Ormonde. Know all ye sufferihg, languishing mortals, repining for joy or a new lease of life’s pleasure, just attend some of our socials, picnics or parties at Keno Bar, Ormonde or Washington, at all of which all are welcome. ; We were unable to learn the names of all present.
