I notice in your isgue of the 17th that
1,000 pedple cannot find accommodations.
Why? We calculate on 2,000, and agree
that none go away hungry.
Sleepers don’t go. We guarantee excite.
ment enough to paralyze any sleeper, and
life is too short te miss an entertainment
that may never again be presented. The
programme will be carried out to the letter
and no one need fear a disagreeable 1eception, All arrangements have been made to
have a successful celebration, and nothing
will be spared to that end.
Our Indian village is ‘about cempleted ;
our miners’ town will soom be finished. The
bear is fast improving and seems to realize
the combat awaiting him. The ¢ld stage
coach .is already greased, the messenger
wears a deathly appearance, and the Coroner looks smiling.
Come off, now, don’t advertise us like
that. Our hearts, our hands, and our
pockets. are open, yes, our hemes are open,
not to thé chronic kicker, but for all who
come for a good tine. They'll get it, too,

Seeing is believing, and—we-will—make you

in the United States. Nearly every house
has either an organ, piano, guitar, mandolin,
accordeon, flute, violin or some other instrument, and of an evening you cannot walk

Demcorat: If you want to know something about a man’s character watch how
he handles his money. The generous, careless man carries his money loose in his pocket— copper, silver and gold all mixed up to~
gether—and when he is going to pay for anything he takes out » handful and picks out
the amount he requires. . He seems to have
pesition, and, being perfectly honest himself,
thinks most others must be like him.
Of course he is often cheated and imposed
upon, yet he never entirely looses his faith
in his fellow creatures. A fine nature is his
—in fact, toe fine to cope with the greedy,
grasping mortals that flood the world. The
man who, if he has to pay a few pence,
won't even take the trouble of counting out
the amount of coppers, but throws down a
piece of silver to be changed—and_ by-theby he rarely counts his change—is a type of

do with this. A careful man always carries
&purse and keeps the gold, silver and cepper in different compartments, A man like
that never wastes his money. He values
his money as it ought. to lie valued, and,
though not niggardly, is determined te have
his money's worth. He quite ‘believes"that
“any feol can make money, but it takes a
wise man to keep it," and he is right. The
mean man never lets you see what money he
has. When he is going to pay for anything
he turns his back to you, clutches his money
